ACJ ecology has been approved as a Responsible Body for Conservation Covenants
We are pleased to announce that it has been formally recognised as a Responsible Body under the Environment Act 2021. This new status enables the company to secure and oversee conservation covenants, supporting Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG).
This designation enables our team to work directly with landowners and developers to deliver legally binding, long-term habitat creation and management agreements. As a Responsible Body, ACJ ecology will play a pivotal role in ensuring that biodiversity enhancements are not only delivered but also maintained for future generations.
This appointment reflects ACJ Ecology’s strong track record in ecological assessment, habitat design, and long-term environmental stewardship.
“Becoming a Responsible Body is a natural progression for ACJ Ecology,” said Imogen Payne, lead ecologist. “It allows us to support clients throughout the entire BNG process—from initial assessment to long-term delivery and monitoring—while upholding the highest standards of ecological integrity.”
ACJ Ecology is now positioned to support the following:
- Developers requiring off-site BNG solutions
- Landowners interested in habitat banking opportunities
- Long-term monitoring and compliance of biodiversity sites
